Welcome from the Bus Preservation Society of W.A. (Inc).

'Welcome to the official website of the 'Bus Preservation Society of Western Australia'.  Whether you are a member of BPSWA or a member of the public with an interest in buses or history we hope you enjoy our pages dedicated to heritage buses.   To navigate our site, use the menu tabs across the top, or click on buttons and underlined links.

The Society is an organisation of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about the restoration and preservation of buses and all things associated with the history of bus transport in Western Australia.  The Society is funded by donations and grants from generous Sponsors, its members and community funding groups.

The Society operates a Workshop located within Whiteman Park to work on restoration projects and maintenance of the fleet.
Our Collection of heritage buses is maintained at the workshops.  These buses are either 'Operational', having been restored, 'Restorable', currently under restoration or being stored as future restoration projects or 'Spares', being kept as a supply of difficult to obtain spare parts for the rest of the fleet.

The Society regularly displays one of its restored heritage buses in the Revolutions Transport Museum at Whiteman Park as part of that museum's collection.  The Society regularly participates in community events to promote the heritage bus collection and to enable families to enjoy and appreciate the history of bus transport.  The Society also operates the Whiteman Park Discovery and Explorer Tours using its heritage bus collection.

We also offer our buses and other historic items to the film and television industry. Our collection includes vehicles from the 1940s to the 2000s, perfect for creating an authentic Perth street scene. We also have period uniforms, ticket machines, bus stops, and more available for hire. For any film and television hire enquiries, please contact us.

We often receive requests to hire our buses for weddings, birthdays and other special events. However, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate these enquiries due to our commitment to preserving these historic vehicles. Our buses are classified as historic items and are on restricted licences, meaning they are unable to be used for passenger transport for hire or reward.
